Happy New Year Everyone!! As we all know, the New Year brings our attention back to goals goals goals and more goals. New ones for the new year or revising ones from the past.

In the past making goals has been a fairly straight forward experience for me. However this time round, for whatever reason, I have struggled to identify what my goals are for this year. The last few weeks have been rife with confusion and indecision about what I actually want. Obviously then my New Year is doomed, because if I don't know what I want then neither I nor the universe can conspire to help me get it right..!?

Then I hear this from Robin Sharma:

"Confusion is nothing more than growth unfolding"

This was an aha moment for me, where I realised that actually the nature of confusion is very similar to failure. Confusion, just like failure is considered a negative thing. But if we look at confusion similar to failure, though a lense on growth, its much easier to be kind and compassionate towards ourselves and our process.

We spend so much of our time worrying and thinking about what the right decision is or what the next best step is, especially when our options and choices are abundant. Though often, thinking just amplifies our fears and doubts.

At the end of the day, as my favourite expression by Marie Forleo states: "Clarity comes from engagement not thought". This is especially true as I look back on all the things I did achieve and the many more things that I thought I would achieve but didn't. Or how often theoretically an idea seemed good but when I engaged with it I realised the gaps. Clarity comes form engaging whole heartedly in what you are experiencing. This includes engaging fully in your confusion just as much as acting on it.

This has given me a whole another understanding of trusting, engaging and being aware of the process. A new way of relating to that expression, its the journey not the destination. As it is the journey that is always the memorable part, and the destination is always evolving.

So here's to a 2018. Even if you don't know what you want for it, because you know what, as you engage with it, it will get clearer. And you will figure it out.

Hi everyone! Okay, so wonder woman might be so last season at this stage but I'm still working on what I learnt from my favourite scene in it. It was when she is at the train station and sees an ice cream vendor and cart and tastes ice cream from him for the first time. To which her response is:

"This is amazing! you should be so proud"

and I was like, YES!

We take so much of our experiences for granted. Pride in our work shouldn't be reserved for just the big things. There are so many little things that we get through everyday that qualify as progress too.

I have been so focused on what hasn't been done that I lost sight of how far I had already come. So now when doubt of whether I have done enough or been enough creeps up, I just ask myself, "Did I make progress?" And the answer is always yes! Even if it looked different to where you thought you would be.

And then go grab a bowl of ice cream and marvel at its invention! Because seriously, life without ice cream would be pretty shit.

Hi Everyone! 2016 is coming to a wrap and soon we will be in our New Years Resolution mode! If we aren’t there already! This year has been a frikin rollercoaster. Sometimes in a good way and sometimes in a constant state of hangry and overwhelm kinda way.

I contemplated how I wanted my 2017 to shape up for me. So I started making that good ol list of goals. Because that’s what you are meant to do right? Make a list? But sometimes it feels like you are making a list for the sake of making a list.. My list was getting pretty long and triggering anxiety really quickly.

So as you do sometimes to escape your feelings.. You go on Facebook.. And there I saw a good friend put this question up on her status. “What is your one positive word for 2017 that starts with the third letter of your name?” I love these sort of questions cause I am a chronic over thinker and ruminator. These word limitations and in this case letter limitation, really help me cut to the chase to a word that deeply resonates with how I want my New Year to FEEL.

REWARDING. That’s how I want it to feel. That is my positive intention for the New Year.

I use it to remind myself that this can be a perspective or feeling I choose. That no matter what I am working on or how things end up, it will all be rewarding in many ways than I can anticipate. I still have a list but my list now feels a lot more exciting, authentic and connected to me alongside my big word.

So if you find yourself being drawn to one word solutions like me. Here are some questions to start with, from clear ones to ones that are a bit more obscure.

• What is one word that sums up your Intention or desire for the New Year?
• What is your one positive word for 2017 that starts with the third letter of your name?
• If you aspired to be a verb what verb would you be?

Happy Holidays everyone. Hope it brings many positive feels for you.
